Erin, who was born in Thunder Bay and lived in Barrie for a number of years, is in her third season as a member of NDC. Last year

She has set several goals for the 2011-12 season herself including:

• To qualify for the Under 23 Championships in Turkey;
  • To be in the top three in the under 23 women at the Canadian National Championships;
  • To medal at least twice on the NorAm circuit;
  • Erin’s long term goals include racing on the World Cup circuit as a member of the Canadian National Ski Team and being a member of Team Canada within the next two Olympics.

Erin got the honour of participating in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics as a forerunner. She is the 2008 Barrie Sports Hall of Fame Athlete of the Year and in 2009 received the Barbara Eccles Award for Outstanding Performance and Leadership. In 2010, Erin received the Southern Ontario Division’s Special Recognition Award for her achievements in skiing. Last season Erin competed at the Under 23 World Championships in Otepaa, Estonia on behalf of Team Canada.

Her personal role models are skiers Sara Renner and Becky Scott because she admires their dedication to the sport and push for clean competition. Erin notes, “they have always accepted their athletic achievements with humble pride and are very grounded. ”
