was born in Chicago but now resides in Thunder Bay, has been
skiing competitively since he was five years old. If genetics
have anything to do with one’s athletic ability, Jimmy is in
luck since both of his parents were members of the nordic
national team of Poland and competed internationally for many
years.
This young skier is just starting to rise to the top. He has
been a member of the Ontario Development Team for four years and
this year he is setting a goal to make the World Junior
Championship team and achieve best ever results at the 2011
Canadian Nationals.
One of Jimmy’s most memorable skiing moments was medaling at the
Kamview kids race when he was just 11 years old. Since then he
has climbed onto the podium a number of times in local, national
and international events. Perhaps one day he will realize his
dream of representing Canada on an international level at World
Cups, World Championships and the Olympics.
When not skiing, Jimmy is pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Applied
Biomolecular Science at Lakehead University. Also an
accomplished cyclist, he can be found on the trails or at home
tuning his bicycles. An interesting fact about Jimmy is that he
has triple citizenship (Canada, USA, Poland) and can speak
Polish. |
